   Okay, the theme for this show's comedy is Murphy's Law. The moment you try to do anything, it all goes wrong. Got any ideas for the first scene?

   Sure. An office worker, five minutes before quitting time. The moment he goes to pack his bag, the boss always calls him. 'Kim, a word.'

   B 너무 뻔해. 직장인들 다 겪는 거라 공감은 되는데 웃기지는 않아. 다음.

   Too predictable. Every office worker's been through it, so it's relatable, but it's not funny. Next.

   Then how about this? Take an umbrella, and the sun's blazing. Leave it at home, and it pours.

   That's straight out of the Murphy's Law textbook. The audience will say it before you finish the line.

   Tough crowd. Then let's switch the mood: the hero stands centre stage, looks up at the sky and cries, 'What is life! Why do such trials befall me alone!'

   Hamlet, all of a sudden? Played dead serious, it could be funny, but it won't carry five minutes.

   Did I hear that right? You just said it could be funny, didn't you? Then let's at least keep that.

   B 살릴 수는 있어. 근데 대본 마지막에 진짜 한 방이 필요해. 사람들이 '아, 저거 내 얘기다' 하는 거.

   We can keep it. But the script needs a real knockout at the end. Something where people go, 'Oh, that's so me.'

    Hm. Actually, I'm the best person to write this. I'm unlucky by nature, you see. I've got a truckload of jinxes.

    Seriously. So the fourth time I decided to do it without the mic and yelled with everything I had: 'Enter the groom!' And right at that moment, the mic came back on.

    I thought the roof would come off. A grandma in the front row got such a fright she took her hearing aid out. And the groom stopped halfway down the aisle with his hands over his ears.

    Oh, my stomach hurts. Why are you only telling me this now? This is the funniest one!

    Is that funny? Just thinking about it still makes my head spin and gives me a cold sweat.

    That's exactly why it's funny. The person it happens to is dead serious, and only the people watching laugh. That's Murphy's Law in a nutshell.
