Day 34: A Month Without the TV?

In their living room, a mother (A), a father (B) and their daughter Minji (C) find that the family TV has stopped working.

Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Still learning Hangul? Tick Romanization to see how each line sounds, but read the Korean first.

Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Korean, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Mom, the TV's acting weird again! The screen keeps going black.

C 그럼 이번에 새로 사자! 지우네 텔레비전처럼 엄청 큰 걸로.

Then let's get a new one! A really big one, like the one at Jiwoo's house.

Why buy a new one? Dad'll fix it! The internet tells you how to do everything.

See, Dad? So let's just get a new one, okay?
A 잠깐만. 민지는 큰 텔레비전을 사고 싶어 하고, 아빠는 직접 고치고 싶어 하는 거지?

Hold on. So Minji wants to buy a big TV, and Dad wants to fix it himself, right?

Yeah. What about you, Mom? What do you want?
A 엄마는 한 달만 텔레비전 없이 살아 보고 싶어. 그다음에 정하자.

I want to try living without a TV for just one month. Then we'll decide.
B 좋다! 한 달 동안 아빠는 고친다, 민지는 책 읽는다.

Great! For one month, Dad fixes the TV and Minji reads books.
