Day 86: Radio Special on Suneung Eve

On a late-night radio show on the eve of the Suneung, the college entrance exam, the host (A) talks with three guests: Ms. Kim (B), a high-school teacher, Dr. Park (C), and Sua (D), a university student who took the exam last year.

How to study this lesson 4 steps

Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Still learning Hangul? Tick Romanization to see how each line sounds, but read the Korean first.

It's the night before the Suneung, and we're here to cheer on everyone taking it. Ms. Kim, would you start us off?

I couldn't sleep until three in the morning. But I still did well on the exam.

I'll read one too. 'Jihoon, it's your big brother. When it's over, let's go out for barbecue!'
C 가족의 응원만큼 좋은 약은 없습니다.

Gajogui eungwonmankeum joeun yageun eopseumnida.

There's no medicine as good as your family's support.
D 마지막 문자입니다. "서연아, 결과는 상관없어. 끝나면 엄마랑 맛있는 거 먹자."

Majimak munjaimnida. "Seoyeona, gyeolgwaneun sanggwaneopseo. Kkeunnamyeon eommarang masinneun geo meokja."

Here's the last message. 'Seoyeon, the result doesn't matter. When it's over, you and Mom are going out for something delicious.'
