Day 151: A Missed-Delivery Note on the Door

Coming home, university students and flatmates Dahye (A) and Yuri (B) find a note on their door; their landlord (C) lives downstairs.

Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Still learning Hangul? Tick Romanization to see how each line sounds, but read the Korean first.
Download the Anki deck below and review it every day. It has every line of today's dialogue. Review earlier decks too when Anki asks you to.
Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Korean, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

"Sopo dochak, jibe saram eopseum. Naeil dasi bangmunham." Uchegugine.

"Parcel arrived, nobody home. Will return tomorrow." It's from the post office.
A 어떡해. 우리 내일도 집에 없어.

Eotteokae. Uri naeildo jibe eopseo.

Oh no. We're both out tomorrow too.
B 주인아저씨께 부탁해 볼까? 낮에는 집에 계셔.

Juinajeossikke butakae bolkka? Najeneun jibe gyesyeo.

Shall we ask the landlord? He's home during the day.
A 아저씨, 내일 소포가 와요. 대신 받아 주실 수 있어요?

Ajeossi, naeil sopoga wayo. Daesin bada jusil su isseoyo?

Excuse me, a parcel is coming for us tomorrow. Could you take it in for us?
C 그럼요. 학교에 가 있는 동안 내가 받아 줄게요.

Geureomyo. Hakgyoe ga inneun dongan naega bada julgeyo.

Of course. I'll take it in while you're at school.
B 정말 감사합니다! 저녁에 찾으러 갈게요.

Jeongmal gamsahamnida! Jeonyeoge chajeureo galgeyo.

Thank you so much! We'll come and get it in the evening.
C 네. 받으면 문자 보낼게요. "소포 받았음."

Ne. Badeumyeon munja bonaelgeyo. "Sopo badasseum."
