Day 239: Gukbap While Waiting for the Train

Near Busan Station, brothers Jaewon (A) and Taeho (B) have an hour to kill before their train back to Seoul.

We've got an hour till the train. Want some gukbap while we wait?
A 형, 지금? 늦으면 어떻게 해?

Hyeong, jigeum? Neujeumyeon eotteoke hae?

What, now? What if we're late?
B 식당이 역 바로 앞이야. 걸어서 3분이야.

Sikdangi yeok baro apiya. Georeoseo 3buniya.

The restaurant's right outside the station. It's a three-minute walk.
A 그래도 국밥은 뜨거워서 빨리 먹기 힘들어.

Geuraedo gukbabeun tteugeowoseo ppalli meokgi himdeureo.

Still, gukbap's too hot to eat fast.
B 걱정 마. 밥을 넣으면 금방 식어. 먹기도 편해.

Geokjeong ma. Babeul neoeumyeon geumbang sigeo. Meokgido pyeonhae.

Don't worry. Once you put the rice in, it cools down fast. It's easy to eat, too.
A 알았어. 그런데 형은 부산에 오면 꼭 국밥이네.

Arasseo. Geureonde hyeongeun Busane omyeon kkok gukbabine.

OK. But whenever you come to Busan, it's always gukbap with you.
B 부산에서 돼지국밥을 안 먹으면 섭섭하지.

Busaneseo dwaejigukbabeul an meogeumyeon seopseopaji.

Coming to Busan and not having pork gukbap would be a shame.
A 먹는 동안 내가 시간 볼게. 사십 분에는 일어나야 돼.

Meongneun dongan naega sigan bolge. Sasip buneneun ireonaya dwae.

I'll keep an eye on the time while we eat. We have to get up at forty past.
B 좋아. 넌 시계 보고, 나는 국밥 먹고.

Joa. Neon sigye bogo, naneun gukbap meokgo.

Deal. You watch the clock, and I'll do the eating.
