Day 34: Seollal Alone in the Dorm

Over the Seollal holiday, Jinwoo (A), a first-year student, runs into his senior Hyunsoo (B) in the empty university dormitory.

Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Still learning Hangul? Tick Romanization to see how each line sounds, but read the Korean first.

B 나도. 그런데 기숙사 식당이 문을 닫았는데 밥은 먹었어?

Me neither. But the dorm cafeteria's closed. Have you eaten?
A 아니요. 그냥 라면 먹을 거예요.

B 설날인데 라면은 좀 그래. 떡국 먹으러 갈래?

A 좋아요! 그런데 오늘 문을 연 식당이 있어요?

B 학교 앞 분식집은 오늘도 해. 거기 떡국 맛있어.

The snack bar in front of campus is open today. Their tteokguk is good.
A 와, 그럼 빨리 가요! 선배, 새해 복 많이 받으세요.
