Day 128: Renovation Next Door at Grandpa's

At her grandfather's flat, Seoa (A), a young girl, sees that her grandfather (B) can't rest because of the drilling from the renovation next door.

Oh dear, it's been going since this morning. I can't even have a nap.
A 옆집이 공사를 시작한 지 벌써 일주일 됐잖아요.

It's already been a week since they started next door.
B 그래도 이웃인데 좀 참자. 곧 끝나겠지.

Geuraedo iusinde jom chamja. Got kkeunnagetji.

They're still our neighbours, so let's put up with it. It'll be over soon.
A 그럼 제가 할아버지 대신 옆집에 편지를 써 드릴게요.

Geureom jega harabeoji daesin yeopjibe pyeonjireul sseo deurilgeyo.

Then I'll write the neighbours a letter for you, Grandpa.
B 편지? 우리 서아가 편지에 뭘 쓸 건데?

Pyeonji? Uri seoaga pyeonjie mwol sseul geonde?

A letter? And what are you going to put in it, Seoa?
A "저희 할아버지께서 낮에 쉬셔야 해요. 점심시간에는 조금만 조용히 해 주세요." 이렇게요.

"Jeohui harabeojikkeseo naje swisyeoya haeyo. Jeomsimsiganeneun jogeumman joyonghi hae juseyo." Ireokeyo.

"My grandpa needs to rest during the day. Please keep it a bit quieter at lunchtime." Like that.
B 허허, 우리 서아가 어른보다 낫네.

Ha ha, you're better at this than the grown-ups, Seoa.
A 다 쓰면 옆집 문에 붙여 놓을게요. 귀마개도 사 드릴까요?

Da sseumyeon yeopjip mune buchyeo noeulgeyo. Gwimagaedo sa deurilkkayo?

When I'm done, I'll stick it on their door. Shall I buy you some earplugs too?
B 귀마개는 벌써 사 놨어. 서랍에 넣어 놓고 깜빡했네.

I've already got some. I put them in the drawer and forgot about them.
A 그럼 제가 가져다 드릴게요. 할아버지는 누워 계세요.

Then I'll bring them to you. You lie down, Grandpa.
B 고맙다, 우리 강아지. 편지는 이따가 같이 붙이자.
