Day 129: Class Gift Politely Refused

After class, Doyun (A), a high-school student, goes to see his homeroom teacher, Mr. Kim (B), with a plan from the whole class.

How to study this lesson 4 steps

Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Still learning Hangul? Tick Romanization to see how each line sounds, but read the Korean first.

B 마음은 정말 고맙다. 그런데 선생님은 학생들한테 선물을 받으면 안 된다.

That's really kind of you all. But teachers aren't allowed to accept gifts from students.

It's nothing expensive. We were only going to get one baby outfit.
