Day 4: Coffee Spilled on the Laptop

In a café the night before his report is due, Minjae (A) knocks his iced coffee over his laptop in front of his friend Sohee (B).

Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Still learning Hangul? Tick Romanization to see how each line sounds, but read the Korean first.

Okay. So what do I do now?
B 화면을 열고 이렇게 거꾸로 세워서 커피가 빠지게 해. 드라이기는 쓰지 말고.

Open it up and stand it upside down like this so the coffee drains out. And don't use a hair dryer.
A 얼마나 말려야 돼? 오늘 밤에 써야 되는데.

How long do I have to dry it? I need it tonight.
B 하루는 꼭 말려. 보고서는 오늘 내 노트북으로 써.

Make sure it dries for at least a whole day. Use my laptop for your report tonight.
A 진짜? 고마워. 근데 내일도 안 되면?

Really? Thanks. But what if it still doesn't work tomorrow?
B 내일도 안 되거든 바로 서비스 센터에 수리 맡겨. 늦게 가면 수리비만 더 나와.

If it still won't start tomorrow, take it straight to the service centre. The longer you wait, the more the repair will cost.
