Day 162 of 185

Day 162: Survey on Sleep and Social Media

In an empty classroom, students Jihun (A) and Nari (B) rehearse their presentation on social media and sleep when their professor, Dr. Choi (C), arrives early.

How to study this lesson 4 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Still learning Hangul? Tick Romanization to see how each line sounds, but read the Korean first.
  3. Download the Anki deck below and review it every day. It has every line of today's dialogue. Review earlier decks too when Anki asks you to.
  4. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Korean, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio recordings are on the way. For now, each lesson is the dialogue with its English translation.

Let's run through it once more before the professor gets here. You said everything was ready?

  2. A 거의. 첫 μž₯은 λ‚΄κ°€ μ½μ„κ²Œ. "SNS μ‚¬μš©μœΌλ‘œ μΈν•˜μ—¬ λŒ€ν•™μƒμ˜ 수면 μ‹œκ°„μ΄ 쀄어듀고 μžˆλ‹€."

You're both here early. It looks like you're rehearsing. May I listen too?

  5. A λ„€, κ΅μˆ˜λ‹˜. 마침 μ§€κΈˆ μ‹œμž‘ν•˜λ €κ³  ν–ˆμ–΄μš”.

Even if the results are different from what you expected, you should present them as they are. That's a meaningful result too.

If we stay up all night, won't we become a sleep-deprivation case ourselves?
