Day 53: Five Thousand Won for One Apple?

At a traditional market a few days before Chuseok, a father (A) is shopping with his eight-year-old daughter Seoyun (B).

Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Still learning Hangul? Tick Romanization to see how each line sounds, but read the Korean first.

Dad, look! It says five thousand won for one apple!
A 올해는 사과가 진짜 비싸네. 여름에 비도 많이 오고 해서 사과가 잘 안 자랐다고 하더라.

Apples really are expensive this year. Apparently it rained a lot in the summer and all, so they didn't grow well.

Didn't you say earlier you weren't buying apples because they're too expensive? So why are we standing here?

B 아빠, 내가 깎아 볼래! 나 잘할 수 있어.

Dad, let me do the bargaining! I'm good at it.
A 네가? 좋아. 뭐라고 할 건데?

Nega? Joa. Mworago hal geonde?

You? Okay. What are you going to say?
B "아주머니, 여섯 개 살 테니까 조금만 깎아 주세요." 어때?

"Ajumeoni, yeoseot gae sal tenikka jogeumman kkakka juseyo." Eottae?

"Excuse me, I'll buy six, so could you knock a little off?" How's that?
A 오, 제법인데? 웃으면서 인사부터 하는 거 잊지 마. 그게 흥정의 기본이야.

O, jebeobinde? Useumyeonseo insabuteo haneun geo itji ma. Geuge heungjeongui giboniya.

Ooh, not bad at all! Don't forget to smile and say hello first. That's the first rule of haggling.
B 아빠! 아주머니가 여섯 개에 이만 오천 원만 받으신다고 했어! 작은 사과도 하나 덤으로 주셨어.
