Day 59: Planning Children's Day at the Zoo

At the dinner table, Hayun (C), a young girl, tells her mother (A) and father (B) where she wants to go on Children's Day.

Mom, Dad! I want to go to the zoo on Children's Day.
A 동물원? 그날은 사람이 정말 많겠네. 차도 많이 막히고.

Dongmurwon? Geunareun sarami jeongmal mankenne. Chado mani makigo.

The zoo? It'll be really crowded that day. And the traffic will be awful.
C 그래도 코끼리 보고 싶어. 응?

Geuraedo kokkiri bogo sipeo. Eung?

But I want to see the elephants. Please?
B 그럼 지하철 타고 아침 일찍 갈까? 아홉 시에 문을 열어.

Geureom jihacheol tago achim iljjik galkka? Ahop sie muneul yeoreo.

Then how about taking the subway and going early in the morning? It opens at nine.
A 좋네. 그럼 나는 김밥 쌀게.

Jonne. Geureom naneun gimbap ssalge.

Good idea. Then I'll make kimbap for us.
B 하윤아, 그날은 늦잠 자지 마. 알았지?

Hayuna, geunareun neutjam jaji ma. Aratji?

Hayun, no sleeping in that day. Okay?
C 응! 아빠도 늦잠 자지 마. 맨날 아빠가 제일 늦어.

Eung! Appado neutjam jaji ma. Maennal appaga jeil neujeo.

Okay! And no sleeping in for you either, Dad. You're always the last one up.
