Day 60: Rules from the Kimbap Shop Owner

On his first morning at a small kimbap shop, Minjae (B), a university student, gets a few rules from the owner, Mrs. Jeong (A).

How to study this lesson 4 steps

Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Still learning Hangul? Tick Romanization to see how each line sounds, but read the Korean first.
Download the Anki deck below and review it every day. It has every line of today's dialogue. Review earlier decks too when Anki asks you to.
Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Korean, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Yeogi itseumnida. Chijeugimbap se jul, yachaegimbap daseot jurimnida.

Here they are. Three rolls of cheese kimbap and five of vegetable kimbap.
A 손님이 몇 시에 가지러 오세요?

Sonnimi myeot sie gajireo oseyo?

What time is the customer coming to pick them up?
B 열두 시에 오십니다. 계산은 미리 하셨습니다.

Yeoldu sie osimnida. Gyesaneun miri hasyeotseumnida.

They're coming at twelve. They've paid in advance.
A 잘했어요. 김밥은 미리 싸지 마세요. 열한 시 반에 싸세요.

Jalhaesseoyo. Gimbabeun miri ssaji maseyo. Yeolhan si bane ssaseyo.

Well done. Don't roll them too early. Roll them at half past eleven.
B 알겠습니다. 그럼 휴대폰으로 알람 맞춰도 됩니까?

Algetseumnida. Geureom hyudaeponeuro allam matchwodo doemnikka?

Understood. Then may I set an alarm on my phone?
A 하하, 그건 괜찮아요.

Haha, geugeon gwaenchanayo.
